can I install both Redmine 2.0 and 1.4.2 on the same server?

will I have any Ruby or other conflicts?
I have multiple 1.x test Redmine instances there already and I'm worried that adding Redmine 2.0 will require me upgrading Ruby and all and I don't want the old 1.x instances to stop working.

1.x and 2.0 work on Ruby 1.8.7; It is possible to have several rails versions (i.e. 2.3.14 and 3.2.3). If these instances do not share the same database .... it seems that this is possible.
