Seeing the Redmine version as normal user?

Hello forum,

is there a way to see the version of a Redmine instance when I am not the administrator of the site?
This would be useful when filing issues on redmine.org or to see whether a site has got necessary security updates.

This has been the case, but has been removed a long time ago du to security concerns (it's easier to target known bugs if you know the exact version of redmine). Only administrators can see the redmine version, sorry.

Well, at least I can see the final year of the copyright note.
