Gantt chart task durations

I am using Redmine 1.3.2 with redmine_better_gantt_charts
I have left the task due date blank.
The Gantt chart does not appear to use issue duration to establish the task's end date.
The tasks appear in sequence if I add relationships but the Gantt durations is always one day.

Is there a way of configuring the tool to show calculated duration on the Gantt or do I have to caluclate the due date and enter?
Happy to use another plugin.

Same problem with Redmine 2.0.3 without ANY plugins.
It looks as if Redmine does not use the estimated time when calculating the gantt.

Any advise?

Has anyone responded to this? I would like the Gantt chart to update based on estimated time so I can more accurately guestimate the completion time for a project.
