Creating reports

Added by Jon Lumpkin over 14 years ago

I have seen various posts over the web and issues section about generating reports. I don't see this as a feature in my current setup, and wondering if I am missing something.

What kind of reports are you exactly searching for?

Maybe RedmineIssueSummary fits some of your needs?

I will check out that plugin.

As for reports, it kinda ties in with my custom fields question (http://www.redmine.org/boards/2/topics/9707).

Mainly, what im wondering, is that if there is any way to query, like you do for issues, on 'other' data types (like projects, versions, etc).

With issues I can make a very detailed query and save that, even using my custom fields. And that makes total sense.

It would be really nice to do this with projects, and save the query. For example, i have a custom field for OS, could I have a saved query that shows me all projects running on Linux.

I just looked at the IssueSummary, I guess what im wondering is that is there a way to go one level higher than that, for instance, my entire redmine 'instance' across all projects.

Sadly enough this is currently not yet possible. See issues #2529 and #2595.

I have been aware of these reports for several months - because I was told about them, but thought they were only available by URL. Just yesterday it was pointed out that these are available on the SUMMARY link which is only available in the ISSUES tab.
I would like to suggest the following -- to help people use the Summary report and the project graphs:

1) the name change from SUMMARY to

SUMMARY REPORT

or

PROJECT STATS

or something along those lines.

2) I suggest that these links to both the REPORTS and projects GRAPHS are also available in the sidebar in EVERY project tab (at least all those that have the sidebar). If for some reason this is not practical, I think these should at least be available in the OVERVIEW tab.

What do others think?
Do people think these suggestions would help people use Redmine?

PS -- I too would enjoy a global summary report.

IssueSummary is very useful. Is there an option to view the summary for a week/month or an arbitrary date range?
