Thoughts on a "Wishlist" version

I was thinking about adding a Wishlist version that we can use to track the bigger features that we'd like to see implemented. Then we can use these to show that the contributors agree that a feature should be implemented, but it needs someone to champion it before it can be included in a release. These can also be used to plan for the major releases.

Example of features that would be wishlisted (or could have been):

  • Subtasks
  • REST API
  • Sub-projects
  • Project level permissions
  • Files/Documents merge

Thoughts? Good idea? Bad idea?

Good idea. I think we should have a clear vision of what contributors think we should improve, it would help us focus on issues we should work on. Puppet guys have an "unplanned" version for that iirc.

+1, though unplanned sounds better than wishlist.

"Unplanned" is a lot better. We now have a new version :)

Smart thought. I figure we ought to have an unmistakable vision of what benefactors figure we ought to enhance, it would enable us to concentrate on issues we should take a shot at. Manikin folks have a "spontaneous" variant
